About Dr. Lanier |
Dr. Lanier is a board-certified pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, committed to serving as a health advocate for children, adolescents and their families. |
Dr. Lanier has always had a special interest in combating childhood obesity through education, prevention and treatment. Her current focus is on the development and implementation of community-based programs for children, which promote healthy lifestyles and wellness through fitness, nutritional education and behavior change. In 2007, Dr. Lanier founded Pediatric Wellness Consultants, a pediatrician-directed wellness consulting company focused on developing and implementing health, fitness and nutrition programs for children and their families. In 2008, Dr. Lanier joined the faculty at the University of Florida School of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics. She is now affiliated with the University of Florida College of Medicine as a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Lanier received her early education in Buffalo, NY at City Honors School. She earned her B.A. in Biology and Society from Cornell University in 1993, and received her M.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1997. She completed her postgraduate training in Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Austin in Austin, Texas. She resides in Gainesville, FL with her husband and two children. |
